This important renovation of the Civic Museum Palazzo Fogazzaro, financed by PNRR (Italian acronym for National Recovery and Resilience Plan) funds, has been made possible by the project, sustained by the European Union NextGenerationEU, to “Remove physical and cognitive barriers within museums, libraries and archives in order to guarantee a wider access and cultural participation M1 C3-3”.

One of the main changes is the enhancement of the two entrances, the one on Via Pasini and the one on piazza Falcone Borsellino, by eliminating architectural barriers and designing some green areas near the building.
Then there is the completion of the restoration effort, which includes the realisation of two new museum sections: one located in the attic floor which will be dedicated to the Civic Collection, and the other in the basement floor, destined to tell the history of the airship Aeronave Italia – an excellence for the city of Schio – with an interactive itinerary and an immersive room.

The goal is to make this cultural center a truly accessible place, inclusive and innovative, capable of meeting the needs of visitors.

It’s not just about physical accessibility, but rather about sensory, cognitive, cultural, linguistic and social inclusion, guaranteeing the widest possible access to culture.

This is the reasoning behind the project “The Museum you wish for”, an inclusive itinerary aimed at the entire community and involving associations, institutions and individual citizens. Our goals are accessibility, restoration and digitalisation, starting 2023.

The objective is to make the museum experience culturally inclusive, comfortable and engaging, so the museum can become a place to meet and exchange ideas, not just a container for art, thus strengthening its connection to our local and varied community.
