As a place of collective memory and art, the museum also has an important educational role: it’s a place where one can converse with history and its artefacts.

Here at the Civic Museum, visitors have access to guided tours, workshops for children and various educational activities. In addition to the guided tours pertaining to the temporary exhibits, the museum offers tours of the permanent collection to schools and groups of every age, by appointment.

Visitors will be able to get to know the history of this building and its rooms, such as the beautiful frescoed room where one will find many important works, starting with the sculpture dedicated to the Tessitrice (Spinner) and the busts commissioned by Alessandro Rossi, until recently hosted at Asilo Rossi; this is followed by the important works by French artist Louis Dorigny, that enrich the collection and are a crucial testimony of the important relationship between our area and the “Serenissima” Republic of Venice.

Visitors will also get a taste of contemporary art, an integral part of the museum. Our staff will tell them all about Estonian artist Raul Meel, his story and work, in the rooms dedicated to him.

The museum also takes part in cultural events and leisure moments such as the Giornata Nazionale delle Famiglie al Museo (National Families at Museums Day) and the Festival Musei Altovicentino (Museum Festival of the Northern Vicenza Province), in which games and workshops are organised for families and children, in order to discover – by learning and having fun – the museum’s collections and the activities it proposes.
