Description

This historical and scientific exhibit aims to celebrate, together with other associated events, the Centenary of the maiden voyage of airship Aeronave Italia, born out of the studies and ingenuity of Count Almerico da Schio. This event was so important in the scientific, cultural and entrepreneurial environments of the time, that it is still remembered as an establishing moment in the history of air travel, both nationally and internationally.

Here exhibited are period photographs, documents, historical materials and objects that promote and commemorate the event and the scientist behind it.

The incredible enterprise of June 17, 1905 is put in direct connection with the more recent scientific discoveries in which Schio companies have had a key role, as they have recently designed highly technological components applied to space exploration.

The entire cultural programme includes: the exhibition, an educational publication, an international convention on the history and future of airships, a series of meetings and conferences and a historical reenactment.
