Description

The exhibition tells the life and works of architect and landscape artist Antonio Caregaro Negrin (1821-1898) whose works are scattered in the Berica province. We can admire them in Vicenza, Montecchio Precalcino, Montegalda, Dueville, Monteviale, Santorso, Sandrigo, Piovene Rocchette, Montebello Vicentino, Recoaro, Arcugnano, Arzignano, Malo and Schio, cities in which he worked intensely to give form to the ideas of his illustrious client, Alessandro Rossi.

The museum exhibition – preceded by the inventory of his works done by the Circolo Fotografico Scledense – is the first true census and compared review of the works by Caregaro Negrin, realised with a series of large colour photographs that give us a full chance to appreciate his work.

The Circolo Fotografico Scledense, a Schio photography club, has also proposed a review of architecture photos subdivided in four main sections: aesthetic architecture, architecture of great civilisations, contemporary architecture and, finally, one last section dedicated to historical gardens, which were a great passion of Caregaro Negrin.

On occasion of the second Centenary of the artist’s birth, Luca Trevisan, a scholar of the Accademia Olimpica (Olympic Academy) in Vicenza, published a volume celebrating the famous architect, “Antonio Caregaro Negrin. Eclettismo e architettura a Vicenza”, currently available in Italian.
